Movie Night In

I got some amazing news this week about my summer plans, so to celebrate I spent the night in with take out and some movies. I also played some guitar hero live, with terrible singing thrown in.

Let’s do some reviewing:

Chasing Liberty (2004)

Staring Mandy Moore and Matthew Goode
Written by Derek Guiley, David Schneiderman
Directed by Andy Cadiff

When the president’s 18 year old daughter, Anna, goes awol with a perfect stranger she has the time of her life.

I love this movie, it is a mixture of perfect cheesiness and the finding yourself cliche. A great movie to watch on a Saturday night when you are by yourself.

Penelope (2006)

Staring Christina Ricci and  James McAvoy
Written by Leslie Caveny
Directed by  Mark Palansky

A cursed aristocrat is searching for the only one that can break her curse.

That’s not a very good description, but I didn’t want to give any spoilers away. The one thing that annoyed me about this film is the accents, there are both British and American actors and all the actors appear to have kept their normal accents, its very confusing. I have loved Ricci since she played Wednesday in The Addams Family and she did not disappoint in Penelope.

High School Musical (2006)

Staring  Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens
Written by  Peter Barsocchini
Directed by   Kenny Ortega

Troy and Vanessa are from different worlds but they both share a love for music.

If you haven’t seen High School Musical, where have you been? This is a classic disney channel original movie and it is possibly the worst popular film ever made. I would also like to point out I know every song, and can probably still remember some of the choreography.

It was a fun night, with nostalgic movies from my teen years. I also really enjoy try to write spoiler free descriptions of the films I see. I know I could just copy IMDBs but where is the fun in that?

What movies make you nostalgic of your teen years?

Talk Soon,
Lauren x
