If you didn’t know already, because I really believe I haven’t complained about them enough. I have my exams!!! Not only was I studying the month of April, I also went away with my family for Easter break to where I will be living for a year. So it has been a very busy month of not reading.
If you read my April TBR then you would know I was ambitious, and I did not complete my entire list. But hey, I have the whole of June off so I will catch up then. Until then, here is what I read in April:
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
This was a re-read for the Perustopia bookclub and I really enjoyed going back in time. I don’t think I finished the series when I initially read it, and I actually don’t own any of the other books. Looks like I’m going to have to go buy them.
Reading about Percy Jackson was fun, his sarcasm and humour is one of my favourite parts. My other favourite has to be Greek Gods!! I mean Gods set in modern times, I really wish I could be a half-blood so I could have the chance to meet one.
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
I loved this book from start to finish. It made my laugh, cry and in the end I was happy. I read most of this book on the drive back up to Scotland from England. And before you ask, yes I did read in a moving car, and I actually used to get really sick do that, so it was kind of cool that I have overcome that. Though I think this superpower is limited to smooth driving on a motorway, not on bumpy country roads.
Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson
This is the perfect book to read in the summer, especially if you are holiday. Unfortunately I was in rainy Scotland and spent a lot of my time envious of the weather Taylor had by the lake.
Second Chance Summer really is all about second chances for family, friends, loves.
I was staying at my sister’s when I finished this and she got so fed up of my crying she told me to stop.
True Born by L. E. Sterling
I am half way through this book. I am liking it so far, though I do find Lucy’s twin Margot annoying.
Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
I’ve read a good chunk of this book and what can I say other than its a great sequel already. I kind of want Cinder to end up with Thorne now, not Kia.
So in total I read four books, though it was really three books and two halves. I was very emotional after reading Me Before You and Second Chance Summer, I just can’t get over either of them. I am kinda sad I didn’t get round to reading the second Outlander book, Dragonfly in Amber, but it is a big book and I want to have time to fully enjoy it, and immerse my self in Claire Fraser’s story.
For May my main aim is to pass my exams, and while I am not stressing about them I will be reading the rest of the Lunar Chronicles. I also have the booksplosion book of the month to read.
Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
Cress by Marissa Meyer
Winter by Marissa Meyer
What We Saw by Aaron Hartzler
Since this is an update post, what else can I update you on.
- I am going to do a post on the Lunar Chronicles Review when I finish the series
- I am currently addicted to the Hamilton soundtrack
- I will be moving away for a whole year in August for an industrial placement, so be prepared for a packing post in a couple of months.
- I haven’t really been leaving my house, expect to occasionally go to the computer lab at uni
- I have missed blogging
What book are you excited about? Do you have any updates?
p.s. I was going to read Dragonfly in Amber (Outland #2) but I really wanted to have enough time and head space to really enjoy the story. So I’ve put it off until exams are over.
p.s.s. Remember to add the feature image and tags before you decide to post because I didn’t
