Book Travelling Thursdays #4

I pick a book for the given theme of the week, and tell you why. Then we look at the covers for my chosen book. You can find the group on Goodreads here, where there is more info.

The theme this week is: Choose a book you would want to see as a movie or TV show.

S0 many of the book I have read have already been made into a movie or TV show. I swear I have already picked three books, thinking this would be a great choose. Yeah Lauren it’s a great choice because you have already watched it!

Anyway, this week I pick The Recruit by Robert Muchamore.

CHERUB spies, 17 and under, hack into computers, bug houses, download crucial documents, and Do Not Exist. James, recently orphaned, is their newest recruit, and brilliant in math. After 100 days grueling training, his mission begins.

I read this series when I was about 13/14, and although it was aimed at boys I absolutely loved all the books. I think this would make a great movie, because who doesn’t love spy films?!

THE ORIGINAL COVER:

1166131

This is the original US cover, which I think is a little bland, given this is an action adventure book.

UK EDITIONS OF THE COVER:

2158604

LEAST FAVOURITE COVERS:

Both  of these covers really annoy me. The one on the left is just really bare, plus they changed the name of the book and I don’t like it when they do that. (Don’t get me started on Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone vs Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone). The other one looks too much like an adult book in my opinion, and I really don’t like the use of the radioactive symbol.

FAVOURITE COVER:

2158604

So this is my favourite cover because the book is called the Recruit and look there he is. His shirt is all muddy, because training is hard! Also the colour of his shirt relates to the CHERUB organisation. This cover is simplistic, and stills conveys information about the plot of the book.

I know it has been a while since I have done a Book Travelling Thursday, so it was fun to get back into it. I might even manage to post next week’s on time (you’re shocked I know).

Anyway, this was fun. Here is this week’s question: What is your favourite spy film? Mine would be Kingsman, I have rematched that movie far too many times.

Talk Soon,
Lauren x
