May Wrap-Up

Can you believe it is May? Exams are over, and I have two months off before I start my job. Two months off! You know what that means, reading.

So I have loads of reading plans, but unfortuantaley I had little time to read in the month of May. I read three books, not that many but I did enjoy each one

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

Second book in the Lunar Chronicles, Cinder continues her on her adventure from the first book (Cinder) while Scarlet is searching for her missing grandmother half a world away. This is a fairytale retelling of Little Red Riding Hood.

This is a great second book in a series. Sometimes they can be a flop compared to the first, but the world building was great and it was cool how Little Red Riding Hood was retold.

5 Stars

Cress by Marissa Meyer

Third book in the Lunar Chronicles. This is a no spoiler description of the whole series, so along with meeting Cinder and Scarlet, we know meet Cress a Lunar shell who is trapped in a satellite. This is a fairytale retelling of Rapunzel.

If you can’t tell already, I really like the Lunar Chronicles. Cress is such a cute character, and she is a great addition to the other two leading ladies.

What We Saw by Aaron Hartzler

Kate Weston can remember most of the party, but she left early. When a picture of Stacey passed out appears online, and Stacey levels charges against four of her classmates, Kate realises she doesn’t know everything that happened that night.

This was a thought provoking book, that explored rape and other very important issues. I really liked this book, and the way it handled itself. I have actually written a whole spoiler free review if you want to check that out, it’s here.

4 Stars

I think I did pretty well this month considering the fact I sat four exams. I cannot wait until I finish the Lunar Chronicles because I just love this series and I want to know how it ends.

What book did you enjoy reading this month?
