I love planning what I’m going to read this month, and I have quite a plan for this month.
Let’s do this!
Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins
After a rebellion by the districts of Panem, the televised show The Hunger Games was created as retribution. The ‘tributes’ are chosen during the annual Reaping and are forced to fight to the death, leaving only one survivor to claim victory.
This is a re-read for the Youtube bookclub I like to participate in, and it is Hunger Games appreciation month. So I will be reading this trilogy again, then watching all the movies again. I haven’t read these books in so long, and it will be nice to see Katniss again.
Winter by Marissa Meyer
Fourth and final book in the Lunar Chronicles. This is a no spoiler description for the whole series, so along with meeting Cinder, Scarlet and Cress, we know meet Winter the step-daughter to the evil queen, Levena. This is a fairytale retelling of Snow White.
I am currently reading this book, and it is so good. I am so excited to find out how this series finished. I have become too emotionally invested in the lives of all the heroines featured in these books.
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Ketterdam: a bustling hub of international trade where anything can be had for the right price—and no one knows that better than criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker. Kaz is offered a chance at a deadly heist that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams. But he can’t pull it off alone…
I have had this book sitting on my shelf for a couple of months now, and it has been staring at me every time I write my TBRs. Finally I am getting to read it, and I am really excited I haven’t really read this type of crime/heist book but I love movies of the same genre.
The Raven Boys by Maggie Steifvatar
Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue never sees them–until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks to her.
I won this in a giveaway by the wonderful Jill at Rant and Rave About Books, and I will be participating in the weekly meme she runs, Hype or Like Fridays. I will be reviewing the book at the end of the month for it.
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Mass
This is the second book in the A Court of Thrones and Rose series, and I absolutely loved the first book. No description for this book because it contains spoiler from the first, and I have no idea how to blurb this without giving spoilers for you or myself. So go read A Court of Thorns and Roses, then come back and talk about it with me.
Graceling by Kristin Cashore
In a world where people born with an exceptional skill, known as a Grace, are both feared and exploited, Katsa carries the burden of a skill even she despises: the Grace of killing.
This is another re-read, and I absolutely loved it the first three times I read it, so I am assuming nothing but amazing times from this book again. It’s fun and I have been wanting to read it again so I can write a post about it here.
Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings
Most know her as the Bloody Baroness, the captain of a fearsome glass starship called The Marauder. Androma and her crew strike terror in the hearts of those who cross them amongst the many corners of the Mirabel Galaxy.
When a routine mission goes rogue, the all-female crew is captured by a bounty hunter from Andi’s past and forced into a job that could, quite literally, start a war that will devour worlds.
I have been excited for this book, since Sasha announced it.
Baby Doll by Hollie Overton
Held captive for eight years, Lily has grown from a teenager to an adult in a small basement prison. Her daughter Sky has been a captive her whole life. But one day their captor leaves the deadbolt unlocked.
Last but not least, this is an eARC from Netgalley and I am really excited to read it. The story sounds really interesting, and there will be a review up for Baby Doll as soon as I finish it.
So that’s all the books I plan on reading this month, let’s see if I can do it. I would like to point out that this probably isn’t the order I will read these books in, I have no clue what order I will read them in.
What books do you plan on reading this month?
