Movie Review | Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

This is a spoiler free review.

Heroes in a half shell. Turtle power!!

As Shredder joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman and henchmen Bebop and Rocksteady to take over the world, the Turtles must confront an even greater nemesis: the notorious Krang.

Thoughts and Feelings

If you read last week’s post then I should have been reviewing Mother’s day, but I got my days mixed up and missed the screening. So instead I went to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and now I have been singing the theme tune none stop for four days!! I can’t get it out of my head.

screened-com_1The movie itself was not the best action film I had seen, but it did have its fun parts and you know childhood nostagia. The main bad guy was Commander Krang, he looked weird in the cartoon but was revolting in real life. Who decides the main villain is going to be a robot with an evil brain that floats outside of its chest area.

I will give them credit though Commander Krang’s entrance was spectacular. Plus Shredder and the foot clan were still part of the bad guy team.

Bebop and Rocksteady also return, and boy did I miss these guys from the first film. If you are going to have villains for the heroes they sometimes have to be stupid and funny. And boy did these two fit the bill.

I have talked about the things I liked, because this movie is just great for people who watched the cartoon when they were younger. But now for some bad points to the movie, the plot was a bit rushed and it felt too easy, the big hero bit where they overcome there problems was that exciting. I didn’t really like April (Megan Fox) in the film, she felt more damsel in distress than kickass, even though she is supposed to be a kickass character.

3 Stars
Plot was meh, but teenage mutant turtle nostaglia.

Talk Soon,
Darling Bear

I can’t stand Megan Fox. She’s a terrible actress. Her role in the first movie ruined it for me, as did the fact the turtles look like they’re on steroids. I prefer the older movie that came out in the 90s. It’s a shame they didn’t do these movies any justice. I loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I even had the pizza thrower when I was younger.
