Live life in a bubble?
Or risk everything for love?

Maddy is allergic to the world.
She hasn’t left her house in seventeen years.

Olly is the boy next door.
He’s determined to find a way to reach her.

Everything, Everything is about the crazy risks we take for love.

Thoughts and Feelings

This is a magical book, that makes you want to expand your life beyond the small bubble you’ve created for yourself. Not only is this a beautiful story, but the book is also beautiful.

Maddy talks to the reader, and I found that level of intimacy helped me connect with the characters. There are also illustrations!!

Maddy is one of those characters you can instantly relate to. She is alienated and she reads a lot. Her situation is to the extreme, but any teenage book lover can empathise. What I really like about her is the fact that she is not her illness, even at the start of the book she seems bigger than the house she is confined to.

Then there is Olly, the mysterious boy next door who is determined to meet Maddy. Olly is definitely not just a Prince with the sole purpose to save the Princess. He is 3D, it really annoys me when the only characters with depth and personality is the protagonist.

These two amazing characters go through a wonderful love story that my words can’t describe without spoilers. I will say that this is heart wrenching, and it is definitely worth a read. Everything, Everything is everything I could hope for in a contemporary.

Rating

five star 5

You shouldn’t be surprised, I did just spend the last 200 words paying this book nothing but compliments. This book without a shadow of a doubt is now one of my favourite books ever. I can’t believe this is Nicola Yoon’s debut novel, I will be keeping an eye out for her next book.
