Hoping to walk away with a massive fortune, a trio of thieves break into the house of a blind man who isn’t as helpless as he seems.
You would think by now I would know not to go see a horror film by myself at night when I have to walk home, and yet I haven’t.
So this is a horror/thriller, and the most basic question that has to be answered: was it scary? Yes, yes it was.
This review is going to be very vague, as with any horror, it is in the shock. So if I ruin anything, then you might not jump as high as I did.
The acting was very good. I found Money (Danny Zovatto) to be very annoying, but since I think that was his entires characters image he did it superbly. The other two, had very good shocked/scared faces. And the blind man, Stephen Lang, well I’m not sure I can look at a blind person the same again.
Since this title is Don’t Breathe, and the house the trio are robbing is owned by a blind man, a lot of the movie is spent in the quiet. It was really interesting showing the fear without screams, and it really emphasised the cinematography of the film.
In summary, very scary and I would highly recommend just holding your breathe for the entire film.
Gave me a nightmare, so it gets 4 stars.
