Birthday Book Haul

Quelle Surprise, I took another month off from blogging. I have missed blogging, but I got into a bit of a reading slump and when I did finish a book I didn’t really feel anything or have an opinion to share.

Anyway, for my epic return to the world of book blogging, I will be sharing the books I got (and bought myself) for my birthday.

The Mortal Instruments Series

I have been considering buying this series for a very long time. I do already own these books on my kindle but I really wanted to display them on my physical book shelf. Anyway, I couldn’t decided between paperback or hardback, then there was the whole price thing. The Universe knew I really wanted this series though, so the day before my birthday I am in TK MAXX and the second I walk in the store I spot it. All six books for £12.99!!

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

This is another book I have wanted for what feels like an age. I was very envious of my twitter feed the day this was released, the pictures look amazing. Thanks to my lovely sister, I am now the proud owner of the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.harry-potter-and-the-philosophers-stone

I have flicked through the book, and the illustrations are amazing, beautiful and creative. They enhance the story and really bring the book to life. I can’t wait until I have a free weekend to curl up with a hot drink and spend hours reading this book.

The Chemist

Now I did pre-order this book after my birthday, but I promised my self I wouldn’t buy any books this month so this is going to have to go down as a belated birthday present to myself.

I was going through my emails and Waterstones had sent me an email with the subject: From the Author of Twilight – Pre-order at Half Price The Chemist.

Half price!! Stephenie Meyer!! Hardback!!

I am not afraid to admit I love the Twilight series, I have mentioned in previous posts, they remind me of my teenage years. It is a book that I like to read if I feel home sick or lonely. Twilight for some reason makes me feel better. So how could I not take up this offer.

My mind was made up as soon as I read the subject line, but then I read the description of the book. A female top select spy who doesn’t know who to trust and is trying to escape. This has made me really excited to blog again, I can’t wait to share my feelings.

I am very happy to have these new books on my ever growing book shelf. Don’t forget to follow me on twitter @DarlingBearRevs to find out what my next post and to keep up to date when I make new posts.
